My path to healing and self realization accelerated when I realized that issues from prenatal life and birth precluded my ability to be at peace. My mother confirmed that my prenatal period had been life threatening because of a blood type incompatibility. Anxiety about my prenatal health led to an induced and difficult birth with forceps, blood transfusions, and then two weeks alone in an incubator isolated from family contact. What a welcome to the world! My difficult beginnings and subsequent experiences in the hospital as a child gave me a perspective on the preciousness of life. I felt a connection to humanity, to other souls; a connection without language, but rich with the power of human life pushing through whatever challenges might be in the way.

These early imprints shaped the trajectory of my life and informed me about the vulnerability we all experience as embodying souls. As a young adult I longed for freedom, joy and self confidence but these qualities eluded me because deeply ingrained patterns of survival and fear blocked them, even when they were within reach.

After college I was set on becoming a lawyer or doctor. I felt motivated to rescue and defend the innocent, to correct suffering . But I yearned for open land, sunny skies, and an alternative community, so I left my conservative East Coast environment and moved to the mountains outside Boulder, Colorado. There my soul's passion was met by others in kindred spirit. I graduated from the studies of midwifery and Rolfing and found myself among soulful companions whose passion for knowledge matched my quest for deeper understanding of life's purpose.

I then began a personal journey around pregnancy only to discover I could not conceive a child. I became more curious about what could have happened to my own body prenatally and during early childhood surgeries. This curiosity led me to the world of Pre and Perinatal Education. Here, in this sacred landscape, I explored my own primal experiences which yielded the transformative insights and opportunities I yearned for. My healing was so profound that I wholeheartedly dedicated my life to studying and subsequently teaching Pre and Perinatal Education. I realized there is no degree I might have pursued that could bring me to where I am now. My "Ph.D." is in experiencing compassion with other souls who become aware of the impacts of life's greatest transitions: embodiment, prenatal times, and birth.

When I am not teaching classes in Europe or the USA, I can be found in the wilderness of Northern New Mexico where I live with Karlton and my dogs, Chauncey and Hailey.

Now Is the Time
Poem by Hafiz

Now is the time to know
That all you do is sacred.

Now is the time to understand
That all your ideas of right and wrong
Were just a child's training wheels
To be laid aside
When you can finally live
With veracity
And love.

My dear, please tell me,
Why do you still
Throw sticks at your heart
And God?

What is it in that sweet voice inside
That incites you to fear?

Now is the time for the world to know
That every thought and action is sacred.

This is the time
For you to deeply compute the impossibility
That there is anything
But Grace.

Now is the season to know
That everything you do
Is sacred.
